The Gospel According to Gump

The Gospel is a simple message. Forrest Gump is a simple man. I thought this might be how Forrest sees the Gospel Message:

I was thinking about Jenny, again. Mama says that Jenny was broken when she was a little girl. I loved Jenny.
Mama says that Jenny's Daddy was broken to.

I sure miss my best friend Bubba. Mama says Bubba and Jesus probably eat shrimp every day together. Jesus sure is lucky.

Mama says we don't have to go to church to meet God. Mama says God is always with us. Even when I was in Viet Nam.

Jesus is kind of like my Mama only He ain't ever going to get the cancer and die.

Remember that day when God got mad (the hurricane) at me and Lieutenant Dan, well turns out He wasn't mad at all. He was just scaring all those shrimp into our nets!

Sometimes it really hurts to love someone; like I loved Jenny. But it hurts more not to.

I met the President once for playing football. Then I met another President on account of I got shot in the butt. Then, again, I met another President for playing ping pong. Mama says I don't have to do anything to meet Jesus.
