The Word of God is Jesus!

Jesus is the Word of God; the Bible is a collection of words about the Word. It is nothing short of idolatry, some call it bibliolatry, to elevate the written words about God to the level of Gods Word (Jesus). The bible is not the 4th member of the trinity. If every copy of the Bible disappeared tonight it should not have the slightest impact of the message of the Gospel, because Jesus is the Gospel, not the words written about him. Jesus Himself castigated the one who thought He could find eternal life in the scriptures. John 5:39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
